Writer's picture: lafaelelafaele

You may be thinking, what is a manifesto or what is need for it?

Well, according to Cambridge dictionary a Manifesto is a written statement of the beliefs, aims and policies of an organisation. The MRM Care Consultant Manifesto will not be any different...

An Introduction

To give you a picture of where we are heading it's appropriate to give you context on where we once were.

The 2023 Review

2023 was a year full of blessings, new connections and learning for MRM Care Consultant. We started the year off strong in our new home on Featherstone and broadened our visibility and accessibility to the greater community.

Our growth has been expediential in the past year in all aspects of the organisation, here is some of the highlights of our growth in this past year:

Specialised Substitute Residential Care - March

Just 9 weeks after the initial assessment and final step of MRM Care Consultant’s application to become a Specialised Substitute Residential Care (SSRC); we were granted our registration and able to begin providing this specialised support in conjunction with the Department of Communities and Justice NSW.

MRM team expands! - January-December

In 2023, we’ve had a great expansion of team members. Our managerial, marketing and care teams across the board have had new members join bringing us closer and closer to achieving the best possible care each day.

NDIS Registration – July

Over 12 months in processing and applications wait times MRM Care Consultant had finally received NDIS Registration! Previously we were operating as an unregistered provider providing services exclusively available to unregistered providers.

Today we can provide a range of services to all NDIS participants.

Opening of our first and second SIL Homes

In July 2023, MRM’s first supported independent living home – Lavender House was opened as well as Lily Cottage. With 24/7 care staff on site, Lavender House now serves as the home of our valued participants and a place of happiness and comfort for their family members.

Lily cottage remains as the haven for respite and is open for permanent vacancy. Both Lily cottage and Lavender House’s care is directed by Team Leader Paita EN.

Staff Upskilling and Development!

Education and training have been deeply embedded within the DNA of MRM. All team members are encouraged and supported to seek higher education and training pertaining to their respective roles.

In ensuring our promise to quality care our team has organised multiple First Aid (CPR) training sessions, Manual handling sessions and education sessions across our care teams to refresh and upskill our team and therefore securing their ability to provide quality, safe care.

Sia (Regional Manager PER), Tupou (Admin and Quality Support Officer) and Mahe (Director) had attained their Diploma in Community Service with the notable support of MRM Care Consultant.

MRM in the Community

In 2023 MRM was able to delve deeper in the meaning of community, by not only speaking our intentions and mission in participating in community but we were also able to put these words into actions.

Christmas Party

Staff Christmas Party – November

Our 2nd annual Staff Christmas party celebrated the achievements and hard work of the entire MRM Care Consultant team in 2023. Although not all team members were able to make the party, the night was still great and memorable as most team members came dressed in their Bollywood nights outfits.

The program involved a thank you speech from Managing Director Fina Veukiso, prizes for best dressed and dancer; as well as the 2nd Christmas Charity Raffle for the Alonga Disability Centre in Tonga. All in attendance was also gifted with a performance from Jessy (Peli) for the 2nd year in a row.

We thank all team members and external stakeholders who made the night as fun as it was.
